With not long to go until the summer transfer window slams shut, we’re very excited to announce a major signing of our own, with Andrew Cox officially joining Twenty3 as Co-Chief Executive Officer.
Working for and alongside many globally recognised organisations across the sports industry over the last 20 years, Andrew has enjoyed a stellar career and arrives at a key moment for the company.
Andrew spent more than a decade with sports data pioneers Opta, leading the business as Managing Director through its ownership by Perform Group and sale to Vista Equity Partners in 2019. An authority within the sports data industry, he has since worked as a consultant to sports governing bodies, federations and leagues, as well as established and emergent sports data industry disruptors.
At Twenty3, Andrew will work closely with fellow Co-CEO Simon McMillan, who welcomed our new arrival with the following words.
“Andrew has been well-known to us throughout Twenty3’s short history and has been a great sounding board over the last couple of years in his capacity as an advisor.
“The fact that he has agreed to come onboard full-time is a fantastic boost to our business and a great endorsement of how far we have come.
“I look forward to leaning heavily on Andrew’s vast industry knowledge and leadership experience as we continue to grow.”
Having already completed a positive pre-season getting to know his new teammates, Andrew is eager to get down to business and build for the future.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Twenty3 leadership team and very much looking forward to working with Simon to grow the business and product capabilities alongside some extremely talented data and content specialists”, our new Co-CEO told us.
“It’s evident that the technology and engineering expertise that has enabled the development of our market-leading SaaS proposition is underpinned by a genuine passion for sport and data innovation. This has come through loud and clear in my early interactions with colleagues and clients.
“I’m really excited to be able to leverage these qualities to help our partners maximise the potential of sports data across the value chain.”
Welcome to the team, Andrew!
